Menurut WHO (World Health Organization) stunting adalah gangguan pertumbuhan akibat infeksi berulang dan kekurangan gizi kronis. Kondisi ini ditandai dengan panjang atau tinggi badan anak berada di bawah standar. Secara medis, stunting terjadi ketika tinggi badan anak berada di bawah kurva pertumbuhan yang seharusnya.
Baca Lainnya : Ada sederet faktor yang bisa meningkatkan risiko stunting, yang paling sering adalah tidak terpenuhinya asupan gizi dalam jangka panjang. Tak sedikit orang yang menganggap anak yang bertubuh pendek disebabkan karena faktor genetik. Pada kenyataannya, genetika hanya menyumbang sebagian kecil untuk kondisi kesehatan anak.
Menanggapi hal tersebut bapa Indra Parimarma selaku kesiswaaan di MAN 5 Bogor mengadakan agenda sarapan bersama dalam rangka mendukung Program DINKES Kab Bogor. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh seluruh siswa dan guru di lingkungan MAN 5 Bogor. Kegiatan ini berjalan dengan kondusif, lancar disertai respon positif anak" terhadap kegiatan ini. Kepala sekolah MAN 5 Bogor pun berharap kegiatan ini menjadi langkah awal pencegahan stunting dikalangan remaja, sekaligus mengedukasi anak tentang stunting dan pentingnya asupan nutrisi yang cukup bagi tubuh sebelum melakukan aktivitas.
