Parungpanjang, 1 May 2023 - Segenap pimpinan dan keluarga besar MAN 5 Bogor turut mengucapkan Selamat Hari Buruh Sedunia/Internasional, khususnya untuk rekan-rekan guru dan staff honorer yang mengabdikan diri di MAN 5 Bogor, umumnya untuk semua pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan yang bekerja tak kenal lelah, serta umumnya untuk para Buruh Se-Indonesia yang bekerja di berbagai sektor/bidang.
Kepala madrasah secara khusus menyampaikan bahwa Hari Buruh Internasional dirayakan bukan sekadar untuk memperingati sebuah momentum di masa lalu, tapi kita memberi penghormatan atas karya dan ketekunan para pekerja/buruh/honorer yang menggerakkan ekonomi, dunia usaha dan meningkatkan kualitas SDM Indonesia melalui bidang pekerjaannya.
Baca Lainnya : Sebagaimana kita ketahui bersama bahwa Hari Buruh Internasional 2023 jatuh pada Senin (1/5/2023) yang ditetapkan pemerintah Indonesia sebagai tanggal merah atau hari libur nasional. Penetapan ini berdasarkan pada Surat Keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia Nomor 24 Tahun 2013 tentang Penetapan Tanggal 1 Mei sebagai Hari Libur. Peringatan ini ditujukan untuk para pekerja atau buruh di seluruh dunia untuk merayakan kontribusi mereka dan menyebarkan kesadaran hak-hak pekerja.
Hari Buruh biasanya diperingati di berbagai negara dengan melakukan aksi untuk menuntut hak-hak pekerja dan menentang eksploitasi.
Sejarah Perjalanan Hari Buruh Internasional
Melansir Hindustan Times, Minggu (30/4/2023), Hari Buruh berawal dari gerakan serikat buruh di Amerika Serikat pada abad ke-19. Pada tahun 1889, Kongres Sosialis Internasional Marxis mengadopsi resolusi untuk demonstrasi internasional besar di mana mereka menuntut agar para pekerja tidak boleh bekerja lebih dari 8 jam sehari.
Aksi tersebut kemudian menjadi acara tahunan hingga akhirnya 1 Mei diperingati sebagai Hari Buruh. May Day pertama kali dirayakan pada tanggal 1 Mei 1890, setelah dideklarasikan oleh Kongres Internasional Pertama Partai Sosialis di Eropa pada tanggal 14 Juli 1889.
Dideklarasikan agar para pekerja di Paris mendedikasikan setiap tahun pada tanggal 1 Mei sebagai 'Hari Persatuan Buruh dan Solidaritas Internasional'.
Tanggal 1 Mei di Eropa secara historis dikaitkan dengan festival petani tradisional pedesaan, tetapi kemudian May Day dikaitkan dengan gerakan buruh modern.
Sejarah Peringatan Hari Buruh di Indonesia .
Mengutip Surakarta, Hari Buruh di Indonesia kembali rutin dirayakan di banyak kota pada masa reformasi. Ini sekaligus mengusung berbagai tuntutan mulai dari kesejahteraan hingga penghapusan sistem alih daya. BJ Habibie sebagai presiden pertama di era reformasi melakukan ratifikasi konvensi ILO Nomor 81 tentang kebebasan berserikat buruh. Selanjutnya pada 1 Mei 2013, terjadi peristiwa sejarah hari buruh yang penting di Indonesia karena Presiden memutuskan tanggal 1 Mei sebagai hari libur nasional. Dari tahun ke tahun, 1 Mei selalu menjadi ajang buruh untuk menuntut hak-haknya, mulai dari upah yang pembayarannya tertunda, jam kerja dan upah yang layak, hak cuti hamil, hak cuti haid, hingga Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR).
