MAN 5 Bogor – Kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Kelompok Ilmiah Remaja (KIR) MAN 5 Bogor berlangsung dengan penuh semangat pada Jumat, 17 Januari 2025. Bertempat di ruang laboratorium sekolah, sebanyak 45 anggota KIR yang terdiri dari siswa-siswi kelas X hingga XII mengikuti pertemuan mingguan tersebut.
Dibimbing langsung oleh pembina KIR, Ibu Nevi Damayanti, kegiatan kali ini mengusung tema "Eksperimen Sederhana: Membuat Larutan Indikator dari Bahan Alami". Materi ini bertujuan untuk melatih siswa mengembangkan kemampuan observasi, berpikir kritis, dan mempraktikkan metode ilmiah sederhana.
Dalam kegiatan ini, para siswa diajarkan cara:

Membuat larutan indikator alami menggunakan ekstrak bunga kembang sepatu dan kubis ungu.
Menguji larutan dengan bahan-bahan rumah tangga, seperti cuka, soda kue, dan sabun cair, untuk menentukan sifat asam atau basa.
Mencatat hasil percobaan dalam tabel pengamatan.
Pembina KIR, Ibu Nevi, menjelaskan bahwa materi ini dipilih untuk memotivasi siswa agar lebih mencintai ilmu pengetahuan dan memahami bahwa eksperimen sains dapat dilakukan dengan bahan sederhana di sekitar mereka.
“Melalui kegiatan ini, kami berharap siswa dapat belajar bahwa ilmu pengetahuan tidak harus mahal. Mereka bisa berkreasi dan berinovasi dengan bahan yang mudah ditemukan,” ungkap Ibu Nevi.
Antusiasme peserta terlihat jelas saat mereka melakukan eksperimen secara berkelompok. Selain mempraktikkan sains, kegiatan ini juga melatih kerja sama tim dan komunikasi yang baik.
